About Us

We’re a couple of photographers based in North Yorkshire, capturing the wonderful local surroundings and showing them off for all to see. Like many during the Covid pandemic we picked up a new hobby in photography and instantly fell in love with it. We devoted any spare time we could to photography whether it be furthering ourselves and our abilities or simply visiting new places. Photography has seen us visit some amazing places whether on our doorstop of further afield as part of one our road trips / holidays and hopefully when you look through our images you can see the beauty that we saw captured through our cameras.

We met back in December 2022 having bonded over our common love for both photography and cricket. Now we are living together within walking distance from Roseberry Topping which is where we first met. We first met in person for a snow covered and icy cold sunrise which in all honesty didn’t yield as many good images as it could have due to us getting to know each other better.

Fast-forward to July 2023 and we made the leap to set up what would become Frame and Focus photography. Having both had ideas to visit craft fairs and sell some of our work we opted to jump head first into it and gambled on our work been good enough. We booked our first craft fair in October 2023 and while it was hard work organising everything we needed from insurance to a card reader, money tin to a table and everything in between. Without a doubt though the hardest part was choosing which images we should print and setting up this website we had the exact same problem.

Since then we have been constantly evolving whether it be adding new products, new photos, a gazebo so we can do outdoor shows or trying new places. We always try our best to please, so whether you wanted a photo from somewhere we don’t currently have, a custom size photo or you can’t decide which goes best with your wall colour then we'll try our best so feel free to get in touch. Anyway we’ve mentioned we enough without actually introducing ourselves so here we go……..

Andrew

Hi, I’m Andrew aka ABransbyPhotography. I first bought myself a camera back in June 2021. Like a lot of people during lockdown I made more of an effort to make the most of the beautiful local area both through a necessity due to not been able to travel and having extra spare time due to other hobbies such as rugby and cricket having been suspended. It all started with a phone camera on walks before I took the plunge and bought a used Canon EOS 250D to see if I could get away with it. Having been hooked instantly and my competitive instinct having taken over I spent every spare moment out in the field or learning how to get the best out of my camera. This camera didn’t last long though and 7 months later I opted to upgrade to a newer mirrorless camera and start learning how to use my camera all over again.

It has been a steep learning curve and the learning will never end but I’m so proud with how far I’ve come and of the images we both produce, and I really hope you like and appreciate them as much as we do.

Laura

Hi my name is Laura / LHeananPhotography and this is how my photography journey started.

I had a DSLR camera back in my university days and used it to get photos of my graphic design work without really learning how to use it. A few years later my best friend got a camera and we started going on walks together and taking photos of some of our favourite places as we visited. This got us both out and about to new places and out in nature which I loved.

Just before lockdown I decided I wanted to learn to how to use my camera properly and found an online course that was less restrictive in that I could learn at my own pace as and when I had the spare time. It had units with reading material and practical elements which you submitted. This worked perfectly when lockdown struck and it was the motivation for me to learn and get creative when we couldn’t go out.

Once restrictions we lifted and we were able to get out more I made sure that I got out more taking photos, applying my new knowledge and visiting new places. As they say, practice makes perfect!
