Coastal

Light Night

Its always nice to capture something a little different and events are a great way to do that. This one was a laser show that was happening in several locations along the North Yorkshire coast and even had an app to listen to music which the lasers were supposedly in time to. Now I'll be honest I found this out by an absolute fluke as I'd taken a day off work to spend the day with the camera and spent the afternoon / night photographing Robin Hood's Bay and when darkness fell and I could see lasers in the sky in the distance I searched Google (as you do) and thats what I found out. 10 minutes later as I walked round taking night shots of the beautiful Robin Hood's Bay I bumped into a local who also had no idea that what was going on so I passed my knowledge from Google on and he sat himself down on the nearest bench put some earphones in and sat and watched. Unfortunately photo wise the laser show was too far away to craft a nice photo in the bay including them so I took my planned shots and headed home. Been an naturally inquisitive person the first thing I did when I got home was to read more on the locations the laser show was on and as soon as I saw Whitby Abbey I knew I had to go back another night that week and photograph it. Setting up my camera high on the tripod above the wall at the back of the abbey grounds meant I could capture the lasers reaching out over Whitby with the beautifully lit Abbey alongside.
