Standing Tall

A cool winters day in Whitby is food for the soul to me. The quieter time of year when the hordes of tourists aren’t around and I can spend some peaceful time with my camera and my favourite place. A place with so much to see and photograph that I will never grow tired of it. Finding new compositions will only get harder and harder to come by but that is the beauty of it and what gets the creative juices flowing. Having had an early morning shower there we scattered puddles dotted around  the town and I spent a lot of time crouched / kneeled down trying to line puddles up in an interesting way to capture a reflection shot. This one caught both the railings and the lighthouse on the West Pier in it (after a lot of small tripod adjustments) and the whites of the railings and lighthouse suited a black and white photograph to simplify the image and remove distractions including a bright blue sky.
