North York Moors

Purple & Gold

A Friday night spent up on the moors surrounded by the beautiful purple heather was certainly one well spent. I’ve always loved the way the trees here sit nicely within a gap in the stone wall and even better on this night I managed to hide the sun behind the tree avoiding the direct light and giving the tree a lovely golden backlit glow. This is where the name Purple and Gold came from with the golden light and purple heather foreground complementing each other beautifully.
