The Moorland Matterhorn
A favourable looking afternoon forecast led to me taking an early finish from work and heading up to Captain Cook’s monument. Somewhere I had visited numerous times and yet never come home with an image I was truly proud of. Back when I first started photography I had some spectacular light up there but unfortunately I didn’t make the most of it and haven’t been as lucky since. Back in October I had visited this spot and lined this photo up but on a windy morning and flat light it was one that I would have to come back to another time to capture. A couple of visits later and this night the whole image was bathed in beautiful golden side light before sunset as I looked across to the ever-recognisable Roseberry Topping in the distance.
