Well, another month gone and 2026 already seems to be flying by. We finally saw the sun for a brief period towards the end of the month but the rain that blighted January continued well into February too. The milder, drier weather finally seeing us pick our cameras up with sunrise at Saltburn and sunsets at both Captain Cooks Monument and the Infinity Bridge having been done. Still not the most productive month but with sunrises finally early enough to do before work and sunsets getting doable afterwards things will now start picking up.
Our 2026 road trip has taken another step forward with a lot of the planning done and 90% of the accommodation booked we’re just waiting for the last site to open their 2026 season diary and then that’s sorted. I can’t wait to get back up over that border and have a couple of weeks up in Scotland! Just the two of us, our tent and our cameras.
In the shorter term March sees us have a few nights away up in Whitley Bay for a long weekend, my brother’s wedding and also a catch up with some fellow photographer friends which will be fun. Fingers crossed for plenty of nice sunrise and sunsets to come and make up for a slow start to the year.
