Up the Toon
We’d planned in advance a trip to Newcastle using the £1 train ticket offer that Transpennine Express had been running. The plan was to meet some friends during the day for a few drinks and then grab some photos of sunset and at night. Little did we know that Newcastle would reach the final of the Carabao Cup and the city centre would be heaving with people. We opted instead to keep the photography brief and just grab a couple of night shots in quieter areas before our train home. This one taken from a classic viewpoint down by the quayside includes the Tyne bridge, millennium bridge and the very recognisable former Sage building now known as the Glasshouse. While there weren’t any crystal clear reflections on offer it was still enough to reflect the lights so I didn’t go home empty handed.
