Moody Moss

Heavy rain greeted us as we first arrived at Kilchurn Castle. Parked in a layby eating sandwiches we waited for the rain to pass as from photos we’d seen and from a distance we could see that this was a beautiful castle that we just had to visit. Having waited out the rain and negotiated some boggy terrain we heading towards the shores however got distracted by a copse of trees surrounded by a moss covered dry-stone wall which we were both drawn to. While Andrew headed further round I focused on this area of wall as I thought it acted as a nice leading line with the trees creating a natural frame for the distant castle while the low cloud removed any sky distractions helping to simplify the scene.
