Pot of Gold

While named pot of gold this photo could easily have been named honeypot of gold. Blackrock cottage is known by many photographers as a honeypot location due to how frequently it is shot but there is a perfectly good reason why. The beautiful white cottage which is now owned by the Ladies Scottish Climbing Club is a photographers dream with it been set in front of a dramatic backdrop of mountains and while it looks incredible in snowy photographs I wouldn’t like to be driving up there in it! This morning we had been up for sunrise at some nearby lochs and as we were packing our gear back into the car to head back to the tent when this rainbow appeared. We snapped some quick shots expecting it not to last long but it showed no sign of disappearing so off we went in the car heading towards the campsite when Andrew turned into to head towards Blackrock Cottage. A quick scramble to set gear back up as excitedly we lined the rainbow up with the cottage the adrenaline pumping as we revelled in what we were witnessing.
