Saddle Up

Taking this image made me feel like I’d been riding a horse. Well, I’ve never ridden a horse but what I imagine it would make you feel like. I was sat on a cold concrete floor, wide angle lens on and legs akimbo (tripod and mine) to get this shot as it was so hard to frame these huge 98 foot tall sculptures, especially when close up. I’d spotted these lit stairs and banisters leading up to the sculptures and decided to try incorporate them and the angle made Duke and Baron look even bigger and more imposing than they actually were which is saying something. Did you know the sculptures were inspired by the Clydesdale horses which had been used on the nearby canals in the past?
