Scotland

Wild Horses

A cold, Scottish night spent wandering round the Kelpies was a night well spent even if we could see our own breath. Thankfully that wasn’t all that we could see as we timed our visit perfectly. Turning up to catch our first glimpse of the impressive statues we had wind rippling the water as we wandered around eyeing up potential shots and enjoying the peace of having the place almost to ourselves. Once we had settled and got into photography mode the wind followed suit and settled helping to create some simply stunning reflections. Beautiful conditions to shoot in but not without their problems as the pool of water struggled to capture complete reflections of these two humongous goliaths. While tweaking things and getting creative I spotted the curved edge to the pathway and lights leading up to the statues and felt it was worth compromising one statue in order to capture the curves on show and I’m so glad I did as this was probably my favourite photo of the night.
