Fentastic
Having photographed my favourite locomotive Sir Nigel Gresley on its way to the NYMR just over a month earlier and again at the steam gala the following day I had a break and then headed back again before the railway closed for the winter. Hoping to capture the colourful autumnal landscape with the train going through rather than a close up I opted to head to Fen Bog. An area I’d never really explored but felt was worth a look I went in plenty of time only to very quickly settle on this composition with the foreground tree and rocks meaning I had time to kill before any action. Thankfully my trusty sit mat came in handy as I waited for that familiar noise of the approaching steam train and got back to my camera to capture the moment.
