Squirrel Nutkin
While I did name this photo Squirrel Nutkin I am aware that in the Beatrix Potter book that Squirrel Nutkin was indeed a red squirrel and not a grey but unfortunately the red are a much lesser spotted sight nowadays and I’m yet to capture a nice photograph of a red squirrel that I’m happy with (but I will). This photo actually also heavily reminded me of yet another great book in that the squirrel appears to be giving a begging look like that of Oliver Twist and asking “Please sir I want some more”. Now this is most likely the case as people do often feed them in this park and I did also have some nuts with me to feed the squirrels if they weren’t coming near for their photos to be taken but this one actually came and sat near me without them as I simply sat on a bench enjoying the birds calling in the park.
