Thirsty

Having spent probably half an hour (it felt like longer) watching the cows in this field on the Isle of Skye eating with Laura excitedly making noises about how cute they were. This cow and its calf headed down towards the fence where we were stood and while the calf got petted by Laura I got my camera out as the mother took a drink of water from the puddle near the fence line. While Laura was bonding with the Highland calf I was snapping away, capturing photos of the mother and was so happy when she leant down to take a drink from the puddle as I’d hoped to capture a reflection. Not only did I capture the reflection I was excited when zoomed in on my camera screen to notice I’d also caught a couple of ripples in the water where the cow had taken its drink making this my favourite Highland Cow photo to date.
