Peeking

Having gone away to Blackpool for the night to photograph the illuminations we made a stop at this viaduct on the way home. Having lined up some photos for later if conditions improved with an uninteresting sky and wind I opted to head round towards Ingleborough and go visit a waterfall I’d not visited before in Force Gill waterfall. The wind picked up so much that it was actually blowing the falling water sideways so back to Ribblehead I went ready to wait it out until sunset. While rain and high wind were around and my hopes weren’t overly high I could see a sliver of space underneath the storm clouds and sat there, fingers crossed hoping and praying that some light would peek out and light the scene up. While the light never came through and hit the rocks I’d framed up the light sneaking under the dramatic light meant the wait was worth it in the end.
